I’d love to hear what everyone thought of E3 2021. What new games interested you? What company won for you his year?

It felt like they didn’t have much to show since most upcoming games got delayed in 2020. But I think we can cut them some slack after a certain, communist regime butt fucked the whole planet, and gave it a Sexually Transmitted Pandemic.

FAVORITE GAMES SHOWN

Replaced - It’s a 2.5D cyberpunk style game where it mixes 3D and pixel art. Somehow, they even get the lighting to affect the pixel art as though it’s 3D models. In terms of style, and art direction, this might set a new standard for pixel art platformers. It reminded me of another 2.5D cyberpunk style game shown at E3 2017 called The Last Night. The Last Night was unfortunately canceled due to some controversies and funding issues, which makes the title for this new game, “Replaced”, very ironic.

Elden Ring - I have played Soul style games like Bloodborne, and Nioh. Not my thing, because I always got frustrated by that type of hard difficulty. But even I can recognize the hype for Elden Ring, and how happy people were to finally see gameplay. FromSoftware continues to push the envelope with their new, dark fantasy open world. It already looks like it’ll be filled with tons of lore, and unique designs for all the enemies and bosses. I am going to call it, and predict they’ll eventually make an official Berzerk video game.

FAVORITE MOMENT

I laughed my ass when they announced Death Stranding Director's Cut. You mean to tell me this auteur game Kojima wrote, directed, and produced…was NOT his true approved cut? The nerve. The absolute madman!

The weird 2B Nier skin for Fall Guys was also a funny WTF moment.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - To quote Krusty the Clown, “What the hell was that?!?” How can a game published by Square Enix, developed by Team Ninja, with art by Tesuya Nomura look so bad? Forget the fact the graphics look like a late PS3 game, this is some of the worst art direction I have ever seen from a triple A studio. Everything is dark and hard to see, the characters all look like they belong in different games, and the dialogue is straight out of a 13 year old’s edgy fan fiction.

I was also crossing my fingers for some new Metroid Prime 4 footage, or a tease for Bioshock 4. But I guess Nintendo and 2K Interactive are not far along on these games yet to showcase them. Speaking of 2K…

BEST CONFERENCE

No contest. 2K won E3 2021. It was very bold of 2K to make a video game conference that showed no video games, and no game trailers. They had something more important to showcase…Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity. It was just so refreshing, and inspiring to hear a multi million dollar company talk about social justice. They hardly ever do this. Girls, minorities, and alphabet rainbow people have never been able to play or work on video games. There has been zero progress in the past 50 years. Don't look it up; just take their word for it.

People complained a 1 hour office zoom call lecturing gamers about Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity, is not how you sell video games at E3…but these people are White supremacists. It’s not problematic to hire based on skin color and genitals instead of job experience and skill level. YOU are problematic. You need to shut up and check your privilege…then pay $60 for their products, and another $100 for micro transactions.

WORST CONFERENCE

It was a tie between Microsoft and Nintendo. Sure, Mircrosoft impressed people by showing 30 Xbox Series X games, like Starfield, Back 4 Blood, The Outer Worlds 2, Redfall, Somerville, A Plague Tale sequel, Halo Infinite, etc. If any of these games interest you, 27 of them will be available Day 1 of release on the Xbox Games Pass subscription. It’s like Netflix, but with over 100 video games to play for around $14.99 a month. And sure, Nintendo showed off Metroid Dread, Breath of the Wild 2 gameplay, Super Monkeyball collection, Shin Megami Tensei V, new WarioWare, Mario Party Superstars, and a Mario + Rabbids sequel for the Switch.

All very nice...but they hardly talked about Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity, so they both loose. More companies should go woke, and remember, D.I.E.

I feel the Game Awards have gone the way of the Academy Awards. Where there is a disconnect between what customers and the general public likes, and what journalists and critics like.

Even though The Trash of Us Part Poo won Game of the Year, I was super happy to see Ghost of Tsushima win the Player's Voice Award; the only award that matters IMO.

It really shows the passion and fun gamers had with Ghost of Tsushima....and how much they HATE Neil Druckmann. Druckmann's The Ass of Us Farts Too probably would have won both awards, if he didn't act so smug and unprofessional. Compare the TWEETS by Druckmann and the Hades dev when asking fans to vote. Druckmann deleted the tweet and apologized, but the damage was done.

Even if you enjoyed The Last Jedi of Us Part 2 and think it deserved to win 1 or 2 awards, there's no way it deserved to win 7 NOMINATIONS. Including:

  • Game of the Year
  • Best Game Direction
  • Best Action Adventure
  • Best Narrative
  • Best Audio Design
  • Innovation in Accessibility
  • Best Performance ( 2 Nominations for Ellie and Abby )

Majority of gamers agree games like Doom Legacy, Hades, Animal Crossing, FF7: Remake, and Ghost of Tsushima got robbed this year. It didn't feel earned; like the awards were bought for by Sony and Naughty Dog.The Last of Abby Anal Part 2 is so divisive, it scared a lot of fans from buying it; like me. Plus, besides the pretty graphics, it did very little to innovate on the gameplay of the original game.

Besides my complaints about The Joel Golf Meme Part 2, the Game Awards still feels like they rush through a lot of nominations; some of them happened during the pre-show! they really need to fix that. Plus, award shows really don't feel as exciting without a live crowd. I understand it's all for COVID safety concerns, but it's just not the same when everybody is hosting through web cams.

But what did you guys think of the Doritos Pope Awards 2020? Did The Last Angry Woman Part 2 deserve to win so many awards?

Were there any interesting highlights or trailers you liked? I thought the teaser for the Ark: The Animated Series looked really interesting. I was surprised to see the Dead Space devs are making a new horror game called The Callisto Protocol. The trailer for It Takes Two made me laugh HARD.

And yes, I did notice that robot bunny girl for Rocket League: Season 2.

Just when I reach 10K followers on Pixiv, I get suspended.

iu_176526_7145433.jpg

Don't ask me why Pixiv suspended me; they gave no explanation or warning.

I messaged their support staff, but the response for how I broke their rules will take a week.

Hopefully, I can fix this problem soon. My apologies to anyone that follows me on Pixiv.

I am grateful for all the support I received on Patreon the last 3 years. But, I no longer feel that Patreon is a reliable place for NSFW artists to make a living. If you're a fan of NSFW artists, you should tell them to consider alternatives to Patreon as an emergency backup like SubscribeStar or OnlyFans.

I predict Patreon will go the way of Tumblr soon and I plan to delete the Drawsputin Patreon either this month or next month before that happens.

More NSFW art is getting banned. They are monitoring more NSFW artists for any "problematic" art they post OUTSIDE Patreon. Patreon will hold your income HOSTAGE if you don't bend the knee and remove all the "problematic" art from everywhere online. The money is not worth the censorship.

It is only a matter of time before Patreon comes after me or other artists I like. Patreon has become a censorious, controlling beast. The only way to kill the beast is to starve it of money.

It's a shame this means nuking 3 years of Patreon content, but I have all of it saved and plan to post the unreleased content publicly in do time. I would rather burn it all to the ground than have one singular platform control my freedom of expression.

Thank you all again for the support.

I was saving this idea for next year, but 2020 is turning into a real garbage fire year. We have to balance out this constant misery with silly fun.

Behold! The most pointless gimmick account ever made! PrelewdEvents

So I had a chance to finish all of “Glitch Techs” Season 1 on Netflix. If this is what we should expect of animated shows for the new decade, then the future looks as bright and colorful as Miko's aaaaaah hair?

It was originally going to be on Nickelodeon. Not sure why they passed on airing it to release it on Netflix. Was the budget for an action cartoon too much for Nick? It’s not Spongebob or Loud House, so they don’t care? Maybe somebody in the comments will know.

I really like how it feels like a mix of Men in Black, and Ghostbusters, but with video games. Unlike a lot of shows and movies where sometimes they feel like they were written by boomers with minimal understanding of gaming, every joke and reference in Glitch Techs could only have been made by people who grew up playing games. I would seriously love to play a lot of the fictional games in the world of the show. Heck, I think Glitch Techs could actually make for an awesome video game; maybe with co-op.

The two main characters, High Five and Miko, make a super fun duo. They have good chemistry, their play-styles balance each other on missions, and they’re genuinely funny.

The art style has that nice mix of American cartoon and Japanese anime, like Scott Pilgrim. The animation is fluid and exciting; I am surprised this was not made by the studio Titmouse. There are SO many frames you can pause and you’ll get a cool or funny pose, a memetic facial expression, or a good view of Miko’s bu- HAIR!

Miko’s hair is pretty; nothing else noticeable about her! MOVING ON!

My biggest, BIGGEST complaint has nothing to do with the show, and everything to do with Netflix. See, this is a very colorful show with lots of bright, flashing lights. But Netflix ruins it by putting this dark filter over lots of scenes, even the opening. This prevents viewers with epilepsy from having seizures by making the shots noticeably darker. I understand a few scenes, but it was constant. It seriously took me out of the story and action every time it happened because it’s so distracting. I want to be be able to enjoy the animation how it was meant to be scene.

If you have Netflix, go watch it! Companies and networks have no faith in action/adventure cartoons. When show like this comes along, it’s up to fans to support it.

We need 20 more seasons of Miko’s sweet, thick, plump, round, fat, juicy……hair.

2019 was a rough final year to an even rougher decade that saw a rise in cancel culture, fake news, political divisiveness, SJW authoritarianism, woke entertainment media, and tech monopolies turning society into a censorious, nightmare dystopia.

Now that we've started a new decade for the 2020's, let's forget about the bad and reflect on the things that brought us joy in 2019. No theme or categories; it can be movies, tv shows, anime, games. Just has to be from 2019.

Here's some stuff I loved that I didn't get a chance to discuss last year.

Carnival Row

This Amazon series takes place in a dark fantasy, Steampunk world. Fantasy creatures, called the "Critch" by humans, escaped their war-torn homeland to live in a human city. As the immigrant population grows, so does the racism and resentment by humans towards the Critch.

There's a mystery with the main character Philo; a war vet and detective investigating a series of murders by some sort of monster. Philo has a very tragic story of unresolved love with Vignette, a fairy he knew from the war, who recently escaped to the same city.

There's political intrigue, Lovecraftian horror, a spicy sublot involving a wealthy puck moving into a human neighborhood, and if that doesn't sell it for you, there's lots of fairy-on-human sex and fairy titties.

Hazbin Hotel

The characters all had creative designs, the songs were catchy, and the 2D animation was impressive for an indie team. Charlie and Alastor were my favorite characters; they contrast each other well. I love how optimistic and adorable Charlie is, and I love Alastor's devilish charm and vintage radio announcer voice.

Favorite moment was "How does it feel that I got your pen huh?....BITCH!" Just the way a sweet character like Charlie says a curse word cracked me up.

Hazbin has a growing hatedom because lots of people are annoyed with how popular it got. Personally, it's always refreshing to see more adult animation that looks cute, and colorful like this.

Hope they manage to get a full Season and continue the story past the first episode. Although if they get picked up, the creator and her team must have full creative control. I don't want their creative vision censored or a bunch of executives with check-boxes stripping it of it's unique style.

It's pretty much a Disney princess musical crossed with Invader Zim. Speaking of...

Invader Zim: Into the Florpus

Funniest movie I saw all year. The animation was as manic and as energetic as when it first aired. It was silly and cynical, but it had surprisingly heartwarming moments between Dib and his family. Professor Membrane practically steals the movie.

Favorite moments were the anime style intro, "My name is Dib. I'm 12 years old!" and that whole stupid, drawn out joke where Zim can't hear Dib from so far away, "You'll never get away with this!" "WHAT?!?" "You'll never get away wi-" "WHAT?!?"

I felt it was a better finale than Samurai Jack or Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, because it didn't rush the story or rely on nostalgia and constant callbacks to wrap everything up.

If Invader Zim never gets another season, this movie was a satisfying finale.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

I consider Breaking Bad one of the greatest tv shows of all time. This movie serves as an epilogue for one of the main characters and takes place mere seconds after the show's ending. It's almost like extra DLC for the story.

The creator returns as the director and writer. He does such a great job with the suspense and composition of scenery, you almost forget some of these actors got a little older and fatter, despite the story's timeline. LOL

Was this movie necessary? Not really. Did I love seeing these characters again and the world of Breaking Bad revisited by the creator? "You're goddamn right."

I dare not spoil anything. Definitely, you should watch the show first before El Camino to fully appreciate it as a swan song. Both are on Netflix.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

My best friend insisted on me playing the remake for RE2. I'm not as big a fan of RE as he is, but I really liked the mix of survival horror and 3rd person shooter action from RE4; the first RE game I've ever played and one of my favorite games.

A lot of modern games hold your hand, but RE2 wants you to explore and scavenge around before you can progress. It was always a good feeling whenever I figured out a solution to a puzzle. The scariest thing in RE2 was the zombies. Lickers and monsters I could handle, but the zombies made me anxious. Mr. X was pretty tense too whenever you hear his music and footsteps, but have no idea where he'll come from.

RE2 has a lot of replay value with some of the differences in Leon and Claire's plathroughs; plus they added free DLC. I've finished both once and look forward to replaying both again to get the true ending.

Joker

Entertainment has gotten too safe, stale, and PC. Joker was a welcome shock to the system.

Joaquin Phoenix was amazing as Arthur Fleck. You can see the pain and sorrow on his face when he laughs. He was disturbing but also tragic; like a Joker version of Pagliacci. While very different from so many other Jokers, the story stays true to the spirit and lore of the character.

This is an intelligent movie that wants audiences to think for themselves and interpret subtext. To be exposed to a different perspective with a darker story. To discuss uncomfortable topics of mental health and how society creates criminals like Arthur.

Critics and journalists find these ideas dangerous, so they wanted it censored. They were even cheering and foaming at the mouth for something bad to happen; for people to die after the movie released to be validated. It was disgusting.

Judging this film by it's own merit doesn't sell clickbait. You know what does? "Joker" is alt right, incel propaganda and it celebrates mass shootings, misogyny, eating disorders, Trump, and pedo glam rock stars!

But we should thank them for giving the movie so much free press and making it the first R-rated film to make a billion dollars, without China's box office.

The Boys

Based on the comic series of the same name, this Amazon Prime series is about a world where Superheroes are the biggest assholes celebs in the world. They cause tons of collateral damage, but they get good publicity by a mega corporation with zero value for human life.

What I especially liked about this show is how all the characters were flawed. You root for the protagonists Hughie Campbell and Billy Butcher, but even they do morally questionable things. The superheroes are hateable antagonists, but the more you learn about some of them, the more sympathy you feel.

I always complain about how Marvel films feel too clean and safe. They don't have to get violent on the level of Deadpool, but the stakes never feel high. The Boys is a show where you get to see the real consequences of people with super powers. For example, if a speedster runs through you, you end up as nothing but a puddle of blood and bones. One of the main villains is Homelander, whose like Superman mixed with Captain America. Every scene with him is tense, because you the show is able to show how brutal his powers are; especially his laser vision.

Excellent series. Looking forward to Season 2.

DC Super Hero Girls

The complete opposite of a superhero shows like The Boys. Take the DC Universe, Powerpuff Girls, and MLP: Friendship is Magic and put it all in a blender. It helps an industry veteran like Lauren Faust developed the show.

I'll go more in-depth for a later journal, but I felt this show was what She-Ra and the PPG reboots should have been. The fluid animation and character writing makes those reboots look even worse.

The first Season of DCSHG is on Netflix if you want to give it a watch. Best cartoon of 2019.

Conclusion

Those were some of my personal favorites. What stuff did you love from 2019?

The past decade was pretty rough for me; though I'm sure others had it worst.

I went to school for a few years and ended up thousands of dollars in debt with no job. I landed a steady job, but the bosses were toxic and I was miserable. I was let go and unemployed again. I applied to dozens and dozens of jobs, but nobody wanted me. I felt useless and became depressed.

Eventually I ended up in customer service; not an ideal job, but better than no job. My biggest 2019 disappointment was when I thought me and my friends could finally fulfill our dreams. But the contact we had into the entertainment industry.....was all a lie. It broke my soul into pieces.

Despite all the bumps in the road, every failure and mistake was a learning opportunity. I may not have gotten my dream job, but I gained valuable skills and experience. I made lasting friendships, even on the job I hated. Thanks to my friends, I'm getting way more freelance work now, than I ever did years ago.

More importantly, it was the decade I started making NSFW art. I was very scared to try it out, but now I regret not having done it sooner. My art improved, I got to learn about myself, but more importantly, I felt accepted for being myself. My freaky, dirty, weird, kinky, geeky self.

So, as we start over fresh for the 2020's, let's learn from the past so we're not doomed to repeat it. Let's not dwell on what could have been; let's focus on how we can continue to grow. Let's take value from even the worst situations.

How was the 2010's for you? What lessons from the last decade will you bring with you to 2020?

Thank you all for accepting me and supporting my art. I wish you all a Happy New Year and a Happy New Decade!

"The Rise of Skywalker" is a failure.

The final film in the Disney Star Wars trilogy, and as they advertise it, the "finale" to the Skywalker Saga. *COUGH* Return of the Jedi.

There's no sugar coating it. Critics and audiences hate it. I have not seen it, and I have no interest in paying money to see it. What I am interested in, is discussing the journey that led to this "Game of Thrones" level failure.

DISNEY'S ARROGANCE

George Lucas was very upset, after he sold Star Wars to Disney, and Disney abandoned his story drafts for the sequel trilogy.

Disney wanted THEIR corporate vision of Star Wars. They thought they knew better than the man who created the franchise. Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, admitted George felt "betrayed."

There's even rumors George made a better cut of TRoS, but Disney and Lucasfilm didn't use it cause it made them look like asshats. Could this be why he wasn't invited to the premiere of TRoS? Was George betrayed once again?

They wanted to make their own original characters, replace and kill legacy characters, and abandon the lore of the EU ( Expanded Universe. ) The Disney trilogy was rushed to cash in; it was never planned out like the first two trilogies.

But then, why would Disney care about taking their time and making good quality content? Disney makes billions from the parks, their movies, and the companies and franchises they absorb. They don't need to put effort.

They think we will pay for whatever remake, reboot, or sequel they crap out, so long as it has Disney, Star Wars, or even Marvel in the name.

BAD LEADERSHIP

George Lucas entrusted Kathleen Kennedy to run Lucasfilm and "honor" the legacy of Star Wars.

Instead of pushing for innovation and quality storytelling, Kennedy used Star Wars to push identity politics, social justice, and feminism. Leading to forgettable, safe, PC characters and stories for SJW's and the Chinese market.

Star Wars always had diversity, but Kennedy likes to push this narrative that the franchise was never inclusive. Women get elevated at the expense of men, even men of color like Finn. It's an insult to so many characters that came before; especially in the EU.

Kennedy hires directors to work on films, fires them half-way through production, then replace them with new directors to pick up the pieces. This caused elevated budgets and low quality productions that feel stitched together. The biggest loss in money from this incompetence being "Solo: A Star Wars Story".

On top of all that, Kennedy is either a liar, or an idiot. She said the Disney trilogy was difficult to make because they don't have “source material,” and they don't have “comic books” to pull material from.

ATTACKING FANS

Instead of listening to fan criticism, especially for TLJ, Disney and Lucasfilm weaponized the news media to smear the Star Wars fandom. It's now become a common tactic by studios, actors, and filmmakers, to smear fans when they don't love their products.

They fail to realize fans are customers. If you constantly call your customers toxic, sexist, racist, man-baby trolls, then guess what? They're not going to give you money anymore.

I work customer service. If I treated any customer, with the level of disrespect given by Disney and Lucasfilm, I would get fired.

And now? After two years of the shill media defending TLJ, Disney and Lucasfilm are badmouthing the movie to get old fans interested in TRoS. Not only did they abandon old fans, they've abandoned the woke critics and journalists as well. No wonder the Rotten Tomatoes critic score for TRoS is certified rotten.

CONCLUSION

Disney needs to get humble and put effort into their products. Lucasfilm needs new leadership that actually cares and knows Star Wars. They need to stop weaponizing media; it just turns away old and new customers.

Is it any wonder merch sales are down? Is it any wonder barely anyone visits Galaxy's Edge at Disney parks? Is it any wonder there was zero hype for TRoS?

Nobody was excited for this movie. People are more invested in Jedi Fallen Order and Baby Freaking Yoda than anything in the Disney trilogy. TRoS is the ultimate culmination of Disney and Lucasfilm's hubris, given unholy flesh. An average movie that tries to please everybody and it pleases nobody.

Star Wars has fallen...and now it must learn to pick itself back up.
